My Mission
I must admit that I personally measure success in terms of the contributions an individual makes to her or his fellow human beings.

My Mission
Two years ago I sat in an audience and listened to Kathy Headlee, the founder of Mothers Without Borders (www.motherswithoutborders.org), speak about her work with the AIDS orphans of Zambia. I realized that this was an organization that was doing amazing work with the children, and that Kathy was an amazing person.
In that moment I knew in my heart that I wanted to DO something. I knew that I wanted to go to Zambia as a volunteer, but more than that I wanted my life’s work to be about helping those children in every way I could.
Since my retirement from the teaching profession, I have dedicated more time to humanitarian projects. I have just completed my first children’s book, Imagine That… and part of the proceeds are going to Mothers Without Borders. I travel to Zambia in July to work as a volunteer with the children.
I have been so blessed in my life with so much, and these children have so little. I want the rest of my life to be about making a difference. I want to use the skills, talents, and abilities that I have been given in improving the lives of children everywhere, but especially my little brothers and sisters in Africa.
